All the Old Knives Movie Review
Henry Pelham, played by Chris Pine, and Celia Harrison, played by Thandiwe Newton, are both caught up in a terrorist attack that ends up killing more than 100 people.
All the Old Knives is a movie about two CIA agents who have a history as lovers. Henry Pelham, played by Chris Pine, and Celia Harrison, played by Thandiwe Newton, are both caught up in a terrorist attack that ends up killing more than 100 people. The CIA thinks someone in their department must have helped the attackers and Henry is sent to root out the mole and investigate Celia.
Love and Sacrifice
Celia quickly leaves after the attack and heads off to build a life for herself. She moves to another town, gets married, and now has 2 kids. Henry never understood why she left despite them being so madly in love. Celia doesn’t realize it but the sacrifice Henry made for her was the reason that she left, even as Henry did what he did to protect her.
Love and Betrayal
Celia, in the moments the attack took place, discovers that there has been someone in their department that has been speaking to the attackers. She investigates only to find that it is the one person closest to her. She doesn’t ask any questions despite feeling heavily betrayed, and just leaves.
A very intricate but entertaining movie. All the Old Knives combines espionage, romance, and crime in a unique blend of what could really go wrong when agents fall in love with one another. We rate it 7.5/10 for its engaging story and wonderful delivery. The movie has pockets of adult moments so be careful as it is definitely a movie for those above 18 years of age. Enjoy.
