Embattled veteran musician Colonel Mustafa got emotional and almost broke down after CAS and former musician Jaguar and his friends raised over 1 million shillings for him and his mom. Mustafa was teary-eyed as he explained that he'd been working his construction job for a whole year in secret.

Recently appointed CAS Jaguar and his friends raised over Ksh 1 million for embattled musician Colonel Mustafa to help him and his mom as they go through a difficult time. Mustafa's mom is battling cancer, lymphoma to be exact, and this had contributed to Mustafa's hardship that culminated in a trending video showing him working a construction ("mjengo") job. Colonel Mustafa is known for hit songs such as ‘Dodoma Singida’ and Kenyans were shocked to see him in such a dilapidated state.

In a press conference, Colonel Mustafa got emotional and was teary-eyed after Jaguar revealed that he and his friends had raised over a million Kenya shillings to help him and his mom. Jaguar, in the press conference sitting beside Mustafa, said that anyone can fall and go through a hard time, encouraging musicians and content creators to invest and save their income for a rainy day. Jaguar also said that most musicians get into music at a young age and lack the wisdom and financial know-how to set up investments and secure a financially sound future.

Colonel Mustafa - I Spent Over 450k on a Music Video that Flopped

Mustafa, narrating how he arrived at having to do mjengo, revealed that he'd first sold his car for around 1 million shillings. Of the sum, he had invested 450,000 in a music video that he thought would do well but unfortunately flopped. Mustafa said that the rest of the money he used for other expenses but it soon disappeared.

Mustafa Reveals What He Plans to Do with the Money Well-Wishers Have Contributed to Him

Mustafa revealed that he would set up two accounts for the contributions from well-wishers, one for himself and the other for his mom. Whatever sum he gets, he said, he would separate in half, putting one half in his account and the other half in his mom's account.

Colonel Mustafa said that he would use the money to ensure his mom gets the medical care she needs. He also said that he'd use it to renovate her house and also set up a business. Mustafa said that his aim is to make his mom happy and take her on a trip she's been wanting to go on for a long time so that she continues praying for him and offering her blessings.
