AKA passed on after he was shot dead on Florida Road in Durban earlier this year.

Read the story of AKA's demise and the big vacuum he left in the lives of so many below.

We Lost the Super Mega AKA and We Lost A Big Part of Our World With Him
AKA, alias the Super Mega, was one of the most, if not the most, influential African Hip Hop artist of our time.

AKA Bags Four Awards at the Metro FM Music Awards

AKA bagged four awards at the Metro FM Music Awards including Best Hip-Hop Artist, Best Male Artist, Artist of the Year, and Best Collaboration for his jam with fellow SA rapper Nasty C.

The awards are yet additional sentiment to how incredibly talented he was and how dearly beloved he was and remains to be by his fans. AKA was a one-in-a-million talent and his death is still painful and raw as it was when we all learned about his unfortunate shooting.

A Talent Robbed From the World

AKA fans and his MEGACY movement are still up in arms with the JusticeforAKA hashtag making rounds on the internet. AKA was shot and killed alongside his friend Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane, with the two talents mercilessly robbed from the world. AKA was a huge huge talent, the likes of which we may not see for another generation. His loss remains a momentous loss to Hip Hop in Africa.

AKA's Song 'Company' from his Last Album 'Mass Country' Certified Platinum

AKA's last album 'Mass Country' remains a culmination of just how talented he was and will forever be a classic. The record has one song 'Company' certified platinum and three others: 'Mbuzi', 'Dangerous', and 'Prada' certified gold.

We have come full circle from the first time you were in this very same city in 2011 for your first Metro FM awards. To the family, the friends, and everybody that has been there to support Kiernan, thank you so much."

AKA's Family Take His Awards To His Grave

AKA's family is still very deeply hurt by his demise and went to visit his grave with the awards. I'm personally very hurt that we lost AKA and it breaks my heart to be talking of his grave. :(
